Abstract

#ShareKoLang was a day-long deliberative dialogue designed to generate the collective aspirations of everyday Filipinos and identify plausible plans of action to achieve those aspirations.

The event was held last September 1, 2024, at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s (KAS) office in Makati City, Philippines.

The dialogue’s highlights are the following:
● #ShareKoLang expanded KAS Philippines' reach from engaging political figures and civil society leaders to including 'everyday Filipinos' in democratic deliberation.
● Most participants felt they had ample opportunity to speak and learn from others. The well-being tracker showed growing enthusiasm, indicating the forum fostered an enriching space for political discussion.
● Participants had diverse aspirations, ranging from establishing a cooperative in their community to improving young people's access to digital tools. Though some of these goals initially conflicted, they ultimately developed shared solutions centred on the common good.

This report provides an overview of these themes in greater detail.
