    Abstract

Single- and double-vortex vector solitons carrying an angular momentum and propagating in a self-focusing saturable nonlinear medium were analyzed. The existence domains of these vector solitons were calculated and their stability to weak perturbations was also studied. It was also demonstrated that a large-amplitude guided mode can stabilize the ringlike vortes beam which decays due to azimuthal modulational instability. Different types of vector vortex solitons were identified and both vortex stability and mutual stabilization effect were demonstrated.
