    Abstract

    Sitafloxacin (DU-6859a) is a new-generation broad-spectrum oral fluoroquinolone. It has a molecular weight of 409.81 and has the chemical formula of {(-)-7-[(7S)-amino-5-azaspiro (2,4)heptan-5-yl]-8-chloro-6-fluoro-1-[(1R,2S)-cis-2-fluoro- 1-cyclopropyl]-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-3-quinolinecarboxylic acid sesquihydrate}. Its empirical formula is C19H18ClF2N3O3. The chemical structure is shown in Figure 107.1.
