Abstract
The article looks at the emergence of social innovations on Australian food practices in Melbourne, Victoria in 2008. It mentions the challenges posed by changes on the economic, political and environmental conditions on sustainability and security of the global food supplies. A brief historical overview of the emerging common food practices is provided. The food mapping research conducted at the Victorian Eco-Innovation Lab (VEIL) is explored.
