    Abstract

    Cardiovascular disease (CVD) events are highly preventablethrough appropriate treatment and disproportionally affect so-cioeconomically disadvantaged individuals. This study quan-tified the relationship of socioeconomic factors to dispensingand persistent use of lipid- and blood pressure-lowering med-ication following hospital admission for a major CVD event(myocardial infarction, ischaemic stroke/transient ischaemicattack)
