SOLAR CELL SURFACE: WO/2002/041408

Research output: Other contribution

Abstract

The invention relates to a solar cell surface equipped with electron injection contacts, made out of a) a silicon layer (SS) as a base material b) a thin silicon oxide layer (SOS) disposed on the silicon layer (SS) c) a fluoride layer (FS) disposed on the thin silicon oxide layer (SS) d) metallic contacts (K) According to the invention, a high negative charge exists at the interface between the fluoride layer (FS) and the silicon oxide layer (SOS), or in the immediate vicinity of the fluoride layer (FS) and the silicon oxide layer (SOS). The silicon layer is connected on the outside through the metallic contacts (K), thus enabling said metallic contacts to be in direct contact with the silicon layer, the silicon oxide layer, the silicon oxide fluoride interface or with high p+ areas. The invention can be used in particular for creating a very strong negative drift field in a silicon layer
