Abstract

Routes developed for the syntheses of s-acetylide complexes of tungsten, iron, nickel, copper and silver include reactions of metal halide complexes with alk-1-ynes in organic amines, with copper(I) halides as catalysts, or in methanol in the presence of sodium methoxide. Yields range from good to excellent, and the reactions are generally simpler to carry out than previous methods.
