Abstract
A category of parametric spatial solitons was created through multistep cascading. Parametric spatial solitons which are supported by second-harmonic generation (SHG) and at the same time sum-frequency mixing (SFM) were subjected to a SFM process-generated third wave. This third-wave prompted alterations in the parametric spatial solitons general properties and stability, making them significantly different from their forerunners. The introduction of a third wave also prompted the creation of a quasi-solitons that appear for a negative mismatch of the SFM process.
