    Abstract

Positive spin polarization of 37K nuclei produced in a single proton pickup reaction was observed at the peak of the 37K momentum yield curve. A kinematical model based on conservation of linear and angular momentum was used to explain the observed qualitative variation in spin polarization produced by proton pickup at similar energies.
