Stability and excitation of gap solitons in binary waveguide arrays

    Abstract

    We analyze gap solitons in the engineered binary waveguide arrays including their existence and stability. We demonstrate that the spatial gap solitons can be efficiently generated by two interfering Gaussian input beams.
