Stoichiometric rare-earth crystals for applications in quantum information

    Abstract

    We demonstrate that in stoichiometric rare-earth crystals the excitation induced interactions between ions can be resolved over the optical inhomogeneous linewidth, introducing the possibility of utilising many-body effects for quantum information applications.
