    Abstract

The paper presents a theoretical model for piezoelectric fibre push-out test under electrical and mechanical loading. The model is developed based on the shear-lag theory and some assumptions. Numerical examples are conducted to show the characters of stress and electric field transfer through the interface between piezoelectric fibre and epoxy matrix. The numerical results indicated that the electromechanical coupling and the direction of applied electric field have an important influence on the distribution of stresses and electric field in the piezoelectric fibre push-out.
