Study on limit drawing ratio of cylindrical cup with prefabricate-holes

Abstract

This paper presents a method of calculation on limit drawing ratio [LDRd] of cylindrical cup with holes. The study is motivated by the apparent area between the blank with prefabrication holes and without hole. If limit drawing ratio that the blank without prefabrication hole and area reduction factor of blank with holes are severally showed as [LDR] and Fd, then the calculated formulation could be put as [LDRd]=[LDR]/Fd. Numerical simulation and experiment results indicate that the forming limits of deep drawing on sheet metal with holes follow quite good rule as that for improving LDR of sheet metals.
