Surface multi-gap solitons in nonlinear waveguide arrays

    Abstract

    We analyze nonlinear waves at the edge of a truncated periodic photonic structure, and predict that interband interactions may lead to collective wave localization and formation of surface multi-gap discrete optical solitons.
