    Abstract

We summarize several recent advances in the field of modern plasmonics, and discuss several important generalizations of the classical concept of surface plasmon polaritons in which more complex contexts, geometries, and materials are considered. In particular, we discuss Airy plasmons, the control of surface plasmon polaritons by both phase and amplitude engineering, linear and nonlinear surface plasmon polaritons at metamaterial interfaces, and recent advances in the field of graphene plasmonics with control of surface plasmons by a magnetic field.
