Abstract

In Alpine areas, short-term-oriented tourism planning and a lack of sustainable development have often led to issues of commodification, overstrained infrastructure, increasing property prices and migration away from rural Alpine tourist destinations. This case has accompanying exploring notes to enable further understanding of the case study, during classroom discussion or as enhanced individual learning.
