Abstract

The μ-alkylidene dimetal complexes [M Fe (μ - C₆H ₃Me₂ - 2, 6) (CO)₅, (ν -C₅H ₅)], (M = Cr, Mo or W) reacted with elemental tellurium yielding the heterobimetallic compounds [M Fe (μ, - ν)² - Te CC ₆H₃ Me₂-2, 6) (CO)₅ (ν - C ₅H₅)]. Similarly, the reaction between [Mo Fe(μ - CC₆ H₄ Me - 4) (CO)₅ (ν - C ₅H₅)] and tellurium afforded the complex (MoFe μ - ν)² - Te C C₆H₄ Me-4)(CO) ₅(ν-C₅H₅)].
