Abstract
The New Age has grown to be a visible and dynamic part of Taiwan's religious landscape. Terry Hu (Hu Yinmeng; 1953-present), a former movie star, was one of the most important authors and translators and propelled the New Age's growth in the late 1980s and early 1990s. One of Hu's favourite figures to translate and promote at that time was the Indian-born philosopher and former Theosophist Jiddu Krishnamurti, whom she helped re-create in Taiwan as a Buddhist figure.
