Abstract

A brief overview of the experimental capabilities at the Wright Nuclear Structure Laboratory (WNSL) is given. Results of selected recent experiments, which test nuclear structure in the vicinity of shell closures, will be shown. These experiments include the investigation of proton-neutron symmetric and mixed-symmetric structures, and their emergence from the underlying shell structure in different mass regions, using a variety of techniques.
