Abstract
The Australian Centre for the Moving Image asked me to write this online article to accompany their major exhibition 'Light: Works from Tate's Collection' in 2022. In the article I draw on my expertise in the histories of film and moving image art to communicate to broad audiences about the essential interconnectedness between the visual arts, film and light across the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
