Abstract

The low-valent osmium alkylidene complexes Os(=CHR)Cl(NO)(PPh3)2 (R = H, CO2Et) react with 4-tosyliminooxosulphurane, 4-MeC6H4SO2N=S=O, to give four-membered metallacyclic complexes which provide models for intermediates proposed in the pseudo-Wittig synthesis of alkylideniminosulphuranes from iminooxosulphuranes and phosphorous ylides.
