Abstract

The population of grey kangaroos Macropus giganteus in S Queensland reportedly halved as a consequenc eof the 1982-83 drought. Differences in sightability of kangaroos between the surveys are an alternative explanation for the change in observed numbers. The drought-related population reduction may have been much less than reported (see 87L/1116 and 89L/01876). -from Authors
