Abstract
We describe and attempt to interpret the various sets of observations, mostly spectroscopic, made at ESO, La Silla for the past year from the time of the outburst of the associated GRB980425. These observations include optical spectra taken in all phases photospheric through nebular, infrared spectra, and spectrophotometric linear polarization. Because of the increasing attention to the possibility of asymmetric explosions, our results are discussed in the framework of an attempt to identify observable signatures of asymmetry.
