    Abstract

    Infectious diseases are an everpresent risk to society, particularly because of globalisation and the threat of antimicrobialresistant organisms. Recently, a World Health Organization (WHO) team conducted a joint external evaluation of Australia's core capacities under the International Health Regulations.
