The Open Accessibility and Remoteness Index for Australia: Technical Report

    Research output: Working paper

    Abstract

The Open Accessibility and Remoteness Index for Australia is a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) measure of accessibility in Australia, based on census data. It is an open source implementation of ARIA+, but is simplified in that it is based on Euclidean distances between locations rather than distances over the highway network. It is freely available for download, use and redistribution. The Open Accessibility and Remoteness Index for Australia is available for 2001, 2006 and 2011.
