N2 - It is well known by those concerned with the origin of life on Earth that Darwinian evolutionary theory has significant limitations. The most important of these, it is argued here, is a mismatch between the central dogma of natural selection and the competitive conditions associated not only with the emergence of life but also with its recovery from major extinction episodes. To resolve this problem, a new general dynamic theory - the "dynamic-strategy theory" - has been proposed. This realist theory not only casts light on the way life first emerged on earth, it also explains and predicts the systematically fluctuating fortunes of both nature and human society. The Snooks-Panov algorithm is employed to justify this integrated approach.
