Abstract

The complexes [M(η2-OCCR)(CO)L(Tp)] [M = Mo, W; L = P(OMe)3, PMe2Ph, PPh3; R = C6H4Me-4; Tp = hydrotris(pyrazol-1-yl)borate] are obtained from [M(≡CR)(CO)2(Tp)] and L under photolysis and these react with Lawesson's reagent (S2PC6H4OMe-4)2 to provide thioketenyl complexes [M(η2-SCCR)(CO)L(Tp)] one example of which (M = W, L = PMe2Ph) is also obtained from the reaction of [W(η2-ClCCR)Cl(CO)(Tp)] with NaSH in the presence of PMe2Ph.
