Abstract
The complexes [M(eta(2)-OCCR)(CO)L(Tp)] [M = Mo, W; L = P(OMe)(3), PMe(2)Ph, PPh(3); R = C(6)H(4)Me-4; Tp = hydrotris(pyrazol-1-yl)borate] are obtained from [M(=CR)(CO)(2)(Tp)] and L under photolysis and these react with Lawesson's reagent (S(2)PC(6)H(4)OMe-4)(2) to provide thioketenyl complexes [M(eta(2)-SCCR)(CO)L(Tp)] one example of which (M = W, L = PMe(2)Ph) is also obtained from the reaction of [W(eta(2)-CICCR)Cl(CO)(Tp)] with NaSH in the presence of PMe(2)Ph.
