    Abstract

Efficient singlecrystalline silicon solar cells with an elongated geometry (much longer than wide) have numerous applications in both mass markets and niche markets. In this paper a commercially promising elongate technology is described (SLIVER cells), together with two specialised applications for elongate cells: micro-modules for personal mobile power, and receivers for photovoltaic-thermal linear concentrators.
