Abstract

The reactions of a range of alkylidyne complexes of molybdenum and tungsten [M(≡CR)Ln] with 2-methylthiirane provide the first thioacyl complexes [M(η2-SCR)Ln] of these elements, which serve as precursors for complexes bearing dithiocarboxylate, thioselenocarboxylate, thiolatocarbene and α-thioalkyl ligands and thioacyl-bridged binuclear complexes.
