    Abstract

Phaeographina echinocarpica A.W. Archer & Elix (with echinocarpic acid), Phaeographis necopinata A.W. Archer & Elix (with hypostictic acid) and Phaeographis nornotatica A.W. Archer & Elix (with 4-O-demethylnotatic and hypoprotocetraric acids) are described as new Australian species in the Graphidaceae. A plausible scheme for the biosynthesis of these compounds from common precursors is presented.
