Abstract

The title complex, [RuCl₂(C₂₀H₂₀P₂)₂]. is a convenient precursor for the synthesis of interesting symmetrical or unsymmetrical optically active ruthenium σ-acetylide complexes. The complex has trans geometry about the octahedral Ru atom, with Ru - P distances in the range 2.304 (1)-2.354 (1) Å and Ru - Cl distances of 2.426 (1) and 2.432 (1) Å.
