Abstract
As English speakers we take it for granted that we can walk into a library, a bookshop or a home and find a great book, regardless of our age. We know there is a book awaiting us that will elicit wonder or laughter or reveal something new about the world to us. For the thousands of Territorians who speak Indigenous languages at home, this reality doesn’t exist. But why?
