    Abstract

The world (universe) is a huge object spread out in space and time. What is this object like? Words, especially those from the mouths, pens and keyboards of people we trust, help us answer this question. Newton talked of standing on the shoulders of giants. What he in fact stood on were, to continue the metaphor, the words of giants.
