Abstract

The Australian political narrative–exemplified by Megalogenis (2012) and Keane and Razer (2014)–commonly holds that transformational policy reform has become too difficult, that vested interests have become too powerful, and that governments are less bold and less able in the 24-hour media cycle to make and sustain a compelling case for a fundamental reform.
