    Abstract

The pore properties of Coralline implants for occular and Orthopaedic applications were investigated using three-dimensional (3D) imaging. The 3D imaging of scaffolds enhanced the understanding of transport and mechanical properties of implants designed for orthopaedic applications. The mechanical property data based upon the pore structure is also investigated to learn how the pore space effects the elastic properties of choral. The ability to image and model in 3D the porous structure of corals, provides understanding for the further development of tissue engineered scaffolds.
