Abstract
Nen, (Ethnologue Code NQN) is a language of the Morehead-Maro Family of Southern New Guinea, also known as Nen Ym or Nen Zi (pronounced [nɛn dʒi]). The Morehead-Maro family, with around a dozen members3, straddles two modern nations, Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Indonesia (Merauke district), in a low-lying area bounded to the north and east by the Fly River, to the south by the Torres Strait which separates New Guinea from Australia, and to the east by the Maro river.
