N2 - In 2008 Vincenzo Rabito's youngest son, Giovanni, revealed that his father had worked for ten years on a second, even longer, version of his life which remains unpublished. In this interview, Giovanni Rabito compares the style and contents of both versions. He notes both continuities and discontinuities in his father's selection of the events of his life and in the descriptive approach he used for them, allowing us to see more clearly than hitherto the artistry underlying both autobiographies.
