    Abstract

Spatial solitons in nematic liquid crystals, or nematicons [1], provide an exciting opportunity to test theoretical predictions for unusual dynamics and stability of various nonlocal vortex solitons. Although spiraling of two nematicons was demonstrated earlier [2], the dynamics of optical beams carrying phase singularities in nematics were never explored before.
