Abstract
Wei Leng Tay has forged a practice best known for portraits taken in spaces familiar to her subjects, typically their home or workplace, or a favourite spot in the city where they live. Rather than simply photographing people, Tay builds a relationship with her subjects, through many interviews and conversations. These are often recorded and presented as transcripts, audio elements or published alongside her photographs.
