    Abstract

A regional career can provide opportunities for young lawyers, including better work life-balance, rewarding and fulfilling work, community involvement and participation in decision-making. The harmonious relationship that can develop for young lawyers in the bush also means that the community benefits from their skills, and their presence enhances access to justice opportunities. Having new lawyers and students can also energise and reinvigorate seasoned practitioners. Government and service providers, including universities, have an important role to play in exposing law students to the opportunity to build a career in the bush where they may thrive, be challenged, mentored and enjoy lifestyle benefits positive for their wellbeing
