Abstract

We have proved the Yang-Baxter equation for the R-matrix of the (Z_N)^n-1 generalized chiral Potts model using the factorized L-operator. The hamiltonian of the integrable (Z_N)^n-1 symmetric one-dimensional spin chain associated to the R-matrix is derived. We also discuss the order parameters and their exponents.
